That is what real companies do when there is drop in activities, and consequently revenue. A company is an entity, with a life of its own; when the right survival decisions are not made, it will die. Better to lose few workers, than for the business to totally collapse.

There is a way to go about this downturn and it's not by laying off workers but by relatively going into a pluasible salary reduction and work streaming situation. Where most desk jobs can be converted to work from home and build new banking product lines.
