Airbnb Inc. is cutting 1,900 employees, or 25% of its workforce, co-founder and Chief Executive Brian Chesky told employees in a memo Tuesday, adding that the company’s revenue forecast for this year is “less than half” of last year’s level.
“We are collectively living through the most harrowing crisis of our lifetime, and as it began to unfold, global travel came to a standstill,” Mr. Chesky said in the memo. “Airbnb’s business has been hit hard.”
You guys need to check out airbnbrefund. Thousands of travelers not getting refunds for their trips on Airbnb. Would make for a great piece.
Just Air!
1900 people . Jeez
While I feel bad for those losing work, it’s difficult for me not to be joyous over all the NYC real estate investors, who have driven up market prices, now taking a hit. Of course Airbnb’s isn’t to blame, I love that they try to put money in average homeowner pockets.
Airbnb regretting not going public last year
They already got rid of THOUSANDS of contracted workers/ shadow workforce. Don’t worry know one gives a shit about them... sad
Couldn’t happen to a nicer company. These jerks have treated the homeowners like dirt. The real customers are the guests.
I wonder if airbnb hosts are jumping off rooftops.
Airbb is a cheaper alternative to hotels. I can’t imagine how many lay-offs will come to the traditional chains
GREAT!!!👍👍👍 Airbnb is nothing but a nuisance to those that are actually living in the condo and/or community. Most tenants contributed to more violence & domestic disturbances COVIDIOT
We love to see it, don't we, folks?
Bummer. Unfortunately many in the travel and hospitality industry are doing the same. It's going to be a while before travel ramps back up.
