Top consultancy BCG is giving students 3 work options for summer internships and shuffling the start dates for new hires as it salvages programs for young consultants amid the lockdown

because it's allowing interns to work at nonprofits this summer, one of three options.

Davis told Business Insider that the firm is honoring this year's full-time hires, but their start dates will be delayed. BCG is dividing new employees up into groups of three with "staggered starting dates," and each group will have a 1-month, 2-3 month, or 3-4 month onboarding delay. BCG's internship programs typically run two to three months and can include travel, as interns work on client projects, per. Interns typically have a background in business, engineering, science, law, or humanities.

Consultants routinely travel the globe to work with their clients, and travel restrictions caused by the pandemic has prompted BCG to rethink team and client collaboration.
