Tesla has a secret plan to make its batteries cheaper, longer-lasting and reusable

Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. It indicates a way to close an interaction, or dismiss a notification.Tesla is working on a battery that is not only cheaper but longer lasting and can be re-used to power homes.Batteries represent an overwhelming fraction of electric vehicles' expense and reducing their cost could be a huge win for anyone able to do it.

Eventually, improved versions of the battery, with greater energy density and storage capacity and even lower cost, will be introduced in additional Tesla vehicles in other markets, including North America, the sources said. Tesla is working on recycling and recovery of such expensive metals as nickel, cobalt and lithium, through its Redwood Materials affiliate, as well as new "second life" applications of electric vehicle batteries in grid storage systems, such as the one Tesla built in South Australia in 2017. The automaker also has said it wants to supply electricity to consumers and businesses, but has not provided details.

Tesla now jointly produces nickel-cobalt-aluminum batteries with Panasonic at a "gigafactory" in Nevada, and buys NMC batteries from LG Chem in China. Panasonic declined to comment. A number of the technical advances made by Tesla and CATL in battery chemistry and design originated at a small research lab at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The lab has been run since 1996 by Jeff Dahn, a pioneer in the development of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and grid storage.

The 'secret' is that $TSLA has no cash, and needs to raise money based on fake battery technology.

Fraud pump Thursday. Check.

Every car manufacturer is trying to do the same. Pure advertising stunt! But good news if true.

The plan is so secret they called a press conference to announce it.

What’s the secret then?

Not very secret is it! Of course it’s hardly ‘news’ tha an EV company wants cheaper and better batteries, I can’t think of any that want to pay more for worse ones!

Why does Business Insider continue to enable this stock fraudster?

It’s like a secret plan to end the Vietnam war. Jesus people are gullible.

Is it double secret? I’ll believe it’s real if they say it’s double secret and also massages you

I just love how TeslaQ can't make up their mind. Tesla has so much cash they should pay their workers! Tesla is low on cash they need a capital raise! I mean.. what? I keep laughing at their comments, my stock keeps climbing and my Model 3 keeps getting better. 🤷‍♂️🥳

GM made this happen in 2010 with the NMC batteries used in Chevy Volts. 10 years ago. Here's an article from 2011.

Battery day was supposed to be in Q3 2019. Then early 2020. Then April 2020. Now maybe May 2020 ... Here's a hint it will be we Tesla needs it's next capital raise

They buy their batteries from a Chinese company. Anyone could by them.

Omg could this be more fruadulent. I’m sick of Elon’s penny stock pump stories. It will always be the next pump. He can’t use robotaxis anymore because that was fraud. Put this scumbag in jail.

Old trick, they need to raise cash

More lies from the biggest conman of our age.

No it doesn’t. Quit the bullshit. $TSLAQ

Pump and dump....

Tesla buys their batteries, no?
