Ford brought 71,000 workers back at its North American operations. But work will be different than usual — with “rechoreographed” assembly lines to prevent coronavirus from spreading.

Ford is getting back to work. On Monday, the company brought 71,000 workers back at its North American operations: roughly 59,300 in the U.S., 5,300 in Canada and 6,775 in Mexico.

General Motors and Fiat Chrysler are also reopening plants Monday. It's the first time working for tens of thousands of employees who have been home since March. Work will be different from usual, with new measures to help keep the coronavirus from spreading.Morning EditionHow do you separate people and still have room for all of your necessary employees? What are some specifics that you're doing?.

You plan to test workers who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19. I do wonder why not offer tests to everyone, given that we know many people who get this virus don't have symptoms but they can spread it?

These masks are only 25% effective? Good luck!

We don't need cars rn. Just pay your employees to stay home instead.

I simply dont understand the deep idiotic, lefty, urban, mesquine panel criticizing the genius of elonmusk on failednpr Saturday morning: 'why he wants to go to Mars, I dont leave my neighborhood' was one woman remarks and they all laugh in their liberal thinking. No! No! STOP

Sooo, factories making PPE stuff right? Maybe designer coffins might be a thing soon. Get ya Ford, Chevy, MoPar in 2020 colors with leather interior! It can even reuse the rear camera to show from the headstone your preserved family member!

ValueAnalyst1 Weird how when ford does it theres isn't a bunch of suspicious accounts crying bloody murder

'prevent'? We hope so.

The right response to the issue of asymptomatic spread: THAT'S WHY EVERYONE WILL WEAR MASKS Which should have noted, instead if just parroting the response

Data shows.... The US has less COVID deaths per million than any other nation. Including Germany.... So please liberals.... Blame Trump.

Help me understand this situation..I see literally hundreds of gas guzzling truck's sitting on all of the dealer lots. Why make more? Jobs? Isn't that a rather short term solution?

I give that a month max...then back to full normal. Regardless, its great to see.

Never thought I’d ever consider Ford to be far less evil than Tesla, but here we are

Yes. And they will likely deploy more robots to do the work of humans

Tesla gets county approval to reopen Fremont factory: reportTesla Inc. has been given the green light from local officials to resume operations at its Fremont, Calif., auto plant, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Sunday. The electric-car company has been locked in a battle with Alameda County, one of six Bay Area counties under lockdown to slow the spread of coronavirus, over reopening. Citing an internal letter, the Chronicle reported that employees were told the county health department has approved its health and safety plans and full production will resume "this upcoming week." It was unclear exactly what safety measures were being enacted. Chief Executive Elon Musk has lashed out at stay-at-home measures, calling them "fascist," and last week said the plant had reopened, without the county's approval, and dared county authorities to arrest him. Tesla did not immediately respond for a request for comment Sunday afternoon. elonmusk blue 💊 LOL elon flexed and California caved Bravo Elon Musk....This guy is what American is all about.
