Investment firm suspends woman over racially-charged video of her calling police on a black man who told her to put her dog on a leash

The video showed Amy Cooper threatening Christian Cooper, who is black.

Franklin Templeton Investments, a US asset management firm, said that an employee had been placed on leave as the company investigates the situation. The statement said: "We take these matters very seriously, and we do not condone racism of any kind."As of early Tuesday, the video had over 18 million views on Twitter.

She then gets closer and says that she will call the police, and the man says "Please call the cops."The man says, "please tell them whatever you like." "I sincerely and humbly apologize to everyone, especially to that man, his family," she told the outlet. "It was unacceptable and I humbly and fully apologize to everyone who's seen that video, everyone that's been offended…everyone who thinks of me in a lower light and I understand why they do."

And she is choking the dog in the video !! Fire this Karen!

Steve25mSteve this guy is not a black man, he is a black jerkoff.. sounded like he premeditated doing that!

What happens when she goes to a public place like a restaurant? Hate is out of control, she should be charged big fine and a little time like anything else for false reporting. Oh'wait, she had a mask on, she a good outlaw then.. LOL

Franklin Templeton needs to dismiss the employee unless she reflects the current corporate culture of Franklin Templeton. If its just a suspension, then all will know what Franklin Templeton supports due to their corporate culture which will be seen as racism.

And she was so caught up in her perceived superiority that she was choking her dog. poorhenry

Glad there are consequences for racism

SUSPEND! Fuck her. That is gross misconduct and conduct unbecoming. How could you ever trust her again? I hope 1 thing comes of this and that is every customer calls up and demands her dismissal or removes their funds from the company. Make it clear you won’t tolerate it.

Lame.

[SpikeLeeJoint's Bamboozled was a flop in cinemas. Yet this explosive satire has come to be seen as a masterpiece... Bamboozled is now considered “a history lesson on decades of screen (mis)representation, a look back in anger but also profound sorrow”

Honestly, I'm glad he did the smart thing and recorded it.

Investment Firm? Holy Sh......

The action is appreciated, but not clear or deterring enough to stop such in the future. I suggest sack, fines, and prosecution. Remember, this could have turned out differently if it wasn't recorded.

It's too bad. Hopefully she will learn from this.

karenmemes only suspends this Karen? Fire here.

thisisinsider So shameful, so sad. Why?

Awful title that does not reflect what actually happened and what she did. It was racist and unwarranted.

Welldone! This will go out as a clear message to all those who feel everything can be said or done under “freedom of speech”
