In the midst of the pandemic, protests and police lockdowns, restaurants are turning increasingly to delivery apps like DoorDash and Grubhub to stay
afloat. But with shady tactics, soaring fees, and deep-seated flaws with the business model of the entire industry, delivery startups may do more harm than good.
I tend to look at dining out as a vacation from the kitchen. I like lots of dining out vacations away from my kitchen.
I want to but so many have fired their delivery teams and outsourced to contractors. When I call neighborhood restaurants they tell me to hit the app or website cause they can’t deliver. This trend started way before covid.
I'm going out to eat as soon as Golden Corral and Cracker Barrel open back up. Maybe Red Lobster too, and the Silver Dinner. I hate having to do my own dishes after a lot of cooking.
