3M filed a lawsuit against a merchant selling masks on Amazon for more than 18 times their list price

3M Co. filed a lawsuit against a merchant selling masks on Amazon.com Inc. for more than 18 times their list price, the manufacturer’s latest attempt to help bring some order to the chaotic market for protective equipment.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in federal court in California, 3M said Mao Yu and his affiliated companies sold what he described as 3M masks for an average price of $23.21 each on Amazon. 3M’s N95 masks, which can block 95% of very small particles including droplets containing the new coronavirus, have a list...

220 YEARS OF DOW/GOLD RATIO

Supply and demand

greed

There are several lawsuits against the scamming SOB's who prey on the sick & elderly. Join them and push for law enforcement to throw the scumbags in jail.

sumitsta

The government is charging $600+ for a camp spot at national forests. They have been gouging our taxes for decades. Sue the government.

3M has to do law enforcement job? what happened to our law enforcement who should be protecting us from these types of evil price gougers

And Amazon allows that. Why? Because they got 18 times the money from the sales. AmazonSucks If you buy off Amazon, try looking elsewhere. Amazon takes a high percentage of the merchants' sales INCLUDING THE SHIPPING RATES!

How does this hurt them? No one will buy the expensive ones, more customers for 3m

False-Dawn economy undisputably!

amazon Amazon is allowing this to happen?

Those damn merchants...lol

I used Home made one.

Amazon isn’t fault at all but ok

If lawsuits like this are viable, then why is StubHub still in existence? Does Ticketmaster simply not care that resellers are abusing their system and event goers?

Is there a rule/law saying that one can’t sell above certain price in an open market apart from not being ethical. Just want to know.

I’ve never known them for complaining about anyone discounting their merchandise. So whats the problem with the other way ? Who knew MSRP was so written in stone.

Make your own masks! AntiViralComedy

I got ripped off a bag of weed once ... I’m gonna sue

Given how China ordered hundreds of billions of them (and put export restrictions on 3M factories) from Dec 2019 onwards (while denying H2H transmission)... It's hardly surprising Chinese are exploitation their self-created shortage

3M should sue Amazon too, who let the seller to sell the masks in the higher prices in the first place. It should set an example for opportunistic capitalism.

Prices jacked on fake ppe too.

About a month ago as I ent ERed Walmart I saw a woman at Cust Svc returning carts full of toilet paper. I assume she HAD BEEN selling online until no more demand. Then got a refund for remaining inventory.

Side business huh?

Why with the lawsuit, are they upset they couldn't get that price? if their are people willing to pay that price so what.

I'd love to be able to filter Clyburn out of my timeline until the announcement that someone is primarying him.

Australia has invoked biosecurity laws to stop medical masks and gowns being sold at exorbitant mark-ups or sent offshore. Does USA has legislation to stop price gouging?

5/21/20 New England Journal of Medicine 'We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection.'

Good I'm happy to read this. I had 29 bottles of hand sanitizer I had ordered by the case months prior to pandemic. I di not sell any, I gave most to elderly.

Good! Go get em Rover!!

subscribe to my channel it will be great help

In this case, of course, it's sickening to see such profiteering. But isn't there an anti-trust law about price fixing?

You know someone else is making cameras that take your temp now? Anyone can profit off a pandemic it’s great! 🙄

Anyway It's the market economy

I support the free market. They should be able to sell it for whatever price they want. I am so sick and tired of the communist mindset that is taking hold across the nation. There was a demand and people were willing to pay high prices to save their lives. I love it!
