Yeah, maybe. Though “company culture” is kind of a cultish thing most of the time
Surly
Oh God not the company's culture! Anything but that. Noooo....
Office culture is overrated.
Like rich corporations care about the employees. They'd burn them to death for a dollar.
The news media acts as if working from home is a new idea. Many of us who have worked in IT have been working from home since the 90’s.
True...maybe it’s time each company rethinks their idea of culture and what it means to all employees, health of company, the employees and overall productivity. He is right if you believe their is only one culture and it’s always been that way and we always do it that way
Oh, really? Does he have to point out that obviousness? He needs to be more creative that than to get paid.
Ya think?
And lost revenue for loads of their real estate pals who rent out their space at astronomical price points... Let's get real here. It's always about the $$$$$$.
Only goods for programmers.
Job guru What college has that degree?
12 years ago my Boss had me implement a no assigned desk policy. Whereby we could all work from home and if we wanted to come into office we could use any desk and office that wasn’t being used. He was probably the most forward thinking CEO I have worked for. remotework
Gotta say, it still sounds better than death for you or your loved ones...
Seems pretty reasonable.
No brainer
I think the new normal of working from home is a great idea. No more stress of commuting, and all the money that goes along with that.
SamSullivan If you take your job seriously working from home is not a problem. Those that can't handle it are probably a problem whether they are in the office or at home.
Corporate culture = office politics. And people aren't missing out at all if they're not around that toxic kind of stuff.
Its a problem, Always an issue, When you start going broke that is. Information age, durrrrrrrrrr MayorJenny
Very true. New hires are not being trained well and webinars in the long run don’t convey the intangibles of working on a team.
Adecco deals with low level contract workers. They don't work with senior executives
FFFFFWell, if a 'Guru' says it...
My Japanese friend once asked me why American news medias use what common sense dictates as obvious facts and made it as recently discovered news. Are Americans so detached from reality? I was at a lost of words.
I agree
duh
“Not so fast”, says man and his company poised to lose millions of dollars because of a seismic shift in business practices. He’s not that brilliant. Just desperate.
the times they are a changin
Wrong on personal development and corporate culture is highly overrated and a mechanism to protect the status quo.
Oh bosh! You are too old school! Everything a person needs is online now. The only traction might be mentoring and that can be done remotely as well.
Can't Adecco I remember those days Christ's .mCdaniel and my mailman brother Moses Ellis
um is that why he gets paid the big bucks - CaptainObvious 🥱
Always some asshole that doesn’t want to change.
MUST GO BACK TO HANDS ON WORK.
Most of the company’s will adapt working from home methodology with occasional in-office team building and training programs.
True, it pretty much obliterates all sense of company culture. Telecommuting also pretty much means that you may as well eliminate the local workforce and hire much lower cost employees from overseas.
ha ha ha ... it's the company's job to avoid that !
Humans are social creatures and need to be by others. This is unhealthy
Anybody remember 'High Tech, High Touch'?
He just sees less revenue coming his way.
For 30 years I’ve successively worked remotely FT for major corporations. Good communication skills, time management & continued development is key. All aspect of our Org could always have been done remotely; Covid & an empty office has proven this!
As long as company is profit orientated based that's the best so far as Work-From-Home saved lots of monies for the companies as whole irregardless!
Incorporating a new person into the work unit is hard working remotely.
I worked from home for 3 yrs prior to COVID. Was great for a while, less stress, flexible schedule, but eventually it got BORING. I was disengaged with low motivation (doing a job I really liked). I like the option to work from home, but I’ll pass on doing it full time.
And I thought you had to be a rocket scientist!!
Because a miserable morning commute creates the mind set for a workplace.
This doesn't strike be as a strong argument.
humanworkplace lol
If course he doesn’t like professionals working remotely. The older white men never went to change up the power structure. They need to be able to see their vast minion army in the cube farm.
aka keeps you from becoming a corporate lapdog
Marissa Mayer banned working from home at Yahoo. Look how well that went!
Way to advertise for this guy!!! Of course he would say that. His business depends on it
I must say I agree to a certain point. Office politics are hard to deal with, especially now.
Sounds like a Yes Man...
Some hard hitting stuff here. 🤦♂️
As someone who's made a career out of running office spaces, there's no need to be there for individual work. Toss desks and optimize square footage to provide more conference rooms and a larger variety of breakout areas. Use the office for teamwork, meetings, events, etc.
Вы верите в это?
FOH with this bullshit
Hmmm, this “expert” seems to have a lot of questions about how a distributed workforce works. Maybe he should chat with zapier and digits...
Company culture died with the arrival of open concept floor plans and PTO. Profits are more important than people.
Foh, everyone I know working from home is loving it. No office drama, no 'culture' being forced on anyone and they actually seem way less stressed, which is probably better for ones 'personal development', although I don't have statistics either
They always hire the 'best and brightest' who require lots of 'personal development and supervision'... 🤷♂️
My company culture was toxic, working from home gave me a break away from it.
Agreed.
So let me get this straight- the CEO of a company that relies on worker dissatisfaction to create turnover to drive business and demand for temp workers thinks working remotely is an issue?
Like he gives a damn about people.
Spoiler alert: He is full of shit
Old fashioned. How shame you are
Corporate propaganda.
jobs guru😂😂
'Personal development' is something you do away from work.
My headquarters is 350 miles from my office. Through my many online meetings and daily phone calls, I get enough of the company culture. I like having my own company culture.
He is the CEO he HAS to think that his company’s culture is doing a whole lot good for the workers 🤦♀️
Who wants to go back to the office? AntiViralComedy
Duh.
Water? Wet.
Uh but it’s about human life buddy.
BipolarDisorder
New research from Harvard and Boston University suggests that the coronavirus may have been spreading in China last August
So does death.
This guy is just worried his book of contacts will soon be irrelevant. We are creating a new culture of work.
We face it not just in our jobs, but our personal life as well. Social contact is shrinking. When will humans revolt? A new generation, bred under Synthetic Social Interaction, away from an Organic Reality.
True it is
Remote work can actually improve culture and make organisations more diverse and inclusive. Can also improve personal development via collaboration by breaking traditional office silos. Remote work is an open door to innovation, creativity and sustainability. FutureOFWork
Yeah, you are a recruitment agent, you would say that... Not good for referrals if everyone is working remotely, no recommend a friend. Lol!
I disagree. Here’s an article that explains why the CEO of Adecco is mistaken:
🤣🤣🤣
Этот твит важен для меня
Who cares about company's culture, we prefer to stay at home.
I can see that
Lol the culture wasn’t great to begin with mate.
You know who is in deep shit when leaders talk poorly about trends that could hurt their businesses nntaleb
Flexibility is key
Disclosure: I am a taxi driver. Opinion: Working from home doesn't necessarily produce efficiency or competitiveness. We had ability to work from home before the virus crisis. We didn't embrace it then bc it wasn't the best choice for most industries. There's more to business.
Ok dude, how much do you have invested in commercial real estate?

I rather work from home. Most companies don’t value “work culture” and have created a “culture of fear”. It’s nice to be able to work from home- I lost my job due to my boss feeling like she lost “power” when we all got sent home. It’s pathetic.
True, maybe-but, for giggles-not saying my employer sucks- let's say culture and advancement opportunities at your employer suck-WFH makes a job better-right?
No. We have been victim to the idea that you have to show up at a specific location to do a job that can be done LITERALLY ANYWHERE for long enough. Time to reclaim commute time, sleep, & mental health WFH for the win & the future. You want to socialize, do it on your own time.
🙄 Predictable...such BS...all the companies who have invested billions into office space are freakin out...:money...always about money first
No commute personal development and a company's culture
Oh stfu Alain Dehaze
Moron.
Company culture or brainwash, fear mongering and control. Give me a break
I hate my coworkers so it's better this way.
