Forced to shutter live seasons, performing arts organisations jumped on the digital bandwagon. It may have been a mistake

There’s a long-running adage about working for free in the performing arts. “The problem with working for exposure,” it goes, “is you can die from exposure.”

I doubt it. Exposure to arts boosts spirits, and deepens hunger for more inspiration & upliftment. I know I have glimpsed places I now want to visit but didn't feel drawn to before. The financial economy isn't the only measure. There is the psychological 'economy' to remember too
