University vice-chancellors have warned it could take more than five years for international students to return in pre-pandemic numbers as tensions continue between Australia and its biggest market, China.
"We'll see in 2021, and 2022 continuing challenges in terms of the global recession and international mobility," he told the Committee for Sydney's web event, predicting a "five year or more" recovery period. "In 2018, we had 152,000 international students in NSW," Professor Wellings said. "I don't think you can move that many people on a cycle through hotels in Sydney ... it won't scale to the right level to recoup where we were."
Why would international students want to come to Australia. When shit hits the fan aka covid. SloMo told them to go back home, now he needs there money
Time to rethink strategies. Selling education has not worked out for Australia
They can't do without their $1 million plus pay packets
Only because they want to retain their $1M+ salaries unimelb is the ringleafer at $1.5M
I don’t understand why plans are not being made or presented to open up with the appropriate safety measures.
This lockdown is getting ridiculous. It's meaningless when political extremists can flout it with no consequence.
