The CEO of $12.9 billion HPE said he has tested positive for COVID-19 but will keep working remotely: 'I plan to proceed with business as usual'

Neri disclosed his condition in a tweet on Wednesday, saying, "I rNeri said he will "proceed with business as usual while I quarantine from home."Antonio Neri, CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, has tested positive for COVID-19.saying: "I recently learned of some unfortunate personal news."

"Yesterday I tested positive for COVID-19," he continued. "The good news is, I feel much better already and plan to proceed with business as usual while I quarantine from home." An HPE spokesperson said he plans to continue working and will take part in a virtual company event next week. Neri became CEO in 2018, succeeding Meg Whitman, who led the enterprise tech company, which came into being after the 2014 split of Hewlett-Packard.

The 57-year-old Neri joined HP in 1995 as a customer service engineer before taking on bigger responsibilities in the tech giant's consumer and enterprise businesses.bpimentel@businessinsider.com
