BATU PAHAT: Malaysia opening up its border will help recover the public transportation sector and aviation industry, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He pointed out that currently, Wisma Putra was in discussions with several countries around the region to allow their citizens to travel into Malaysia.

Dr Wee, who is also the Ayer Hitam MP and MCA president, said this in a press conference after holding a dialogue with local tourism industry players in Yong Peng here on Saturday . The Defence Minister said the government, in principle, had agreed to give permission to Singaporeans and Bruneians to enter Malaysia without applying for approval from the Immigration Department.“However, the permission depends on the same flexibility given to Malaysians by the Singapore and Brunei governments.
