For Synchrony, the Verizon cobrand could be a key tool in reinvigorating its portfolio after a few challenging quarters

that its cobranded Verizon Visa card, which will be issued by Synchrony Financial, will launch on June 26 to eligible Verizon Wireless customers, per a company press release. The card allows customers to apply through the Verizon app, can be used through major mobile wallets, and carries no annual or foreign transaction fees.The card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted and is designed to reward Verizon customers for day-to-day spending.

But rather than earning traditional cash, customers earn Verizon Dollars, which can be redeemed at the rate of $1 per Dollar for Verizon products including monthly bills, new devices, and device accessories. Cardholders can also get a per-line discount for using the card with autopay functionality, as well as a credit toward their bill for using it for bill payments.
