Anthony Bila talks to us about the effects of COVID-19 in South Africa and the ongoing debate surrounding Vogue Africa

By and large, the African continent has managed to dodge the global pandemic wreaking havoc on the rest of the world. A phenomenon that's left scientists worldwide scratching their heads. However in South Africa, one of Africa's most developed countries, cases have been spiking following the easing of lockdown after it seemed the worst had passed. Its cases are low in comparison to Europe's more frightful numbers, but its lockdown has been one of the strictest.

So many of us were left to fend for ourselves, relying on savings or crowdfunding to stay afloat. Some friends have now gone over 100 days without work.', a black and white self-portrait film exploring ideas surrounding isolation, loneliness and the impact it is having on us all. Here, he speaks to LOVE about his latest film, the impact on the creative youth and industry in South Africa as well as the looming Vogue Africa debate.
