What does diversity mean to you?Diversity to me means equality. And I say that because I come from a household that is diverse. My father's West-Indian black. My mom is Puerto Rican. My sisters and I all have a different skin tone. So, my world has always been a little bit broader, then what has been presented to us in the media.

Dad would always remind us that we’re beautiful. Both my parents did. It starts at home with instilling the idea that you’re beautiful so when you go out and step into the world, at school where kids are mean bullies making fun of your hair because it's not straight, or because you're too skinny, or because your skin is too dark, you don’t believe them. My dad would say that our essence is beautiful.
