Of the 350,000 people who've registered online for a coronavirus clinical trial, 10% are Black or Latino, according to Dr. Jim Kublin, executive director of operations for the Covid-19 Prevention Network. That's not nearly enough, as study subjects in trials are supposed to reflect the population that's affected. Research shows that more than half of US coronavirus cases have been among Black and Latino people.
He wonders why he has to put together documents that can address the fears about clinical trials.

With covid19 1,300,000 active cases, about 75% of the 5 million have recovered! Simple math 160,000 over 5 months / 5,000,000 = 3.2% death rate. California has a 1.8% death rate higher than the flu! Florida has a 1.5% death rate, Texas has a 1.7% death rate Georgia is 1.7%.
If they want people to sign up why don't they advertise the website? Instead of spreading 100 year old conspiracy theories as to why blacks don't want to sign up and shouldn't why don't you advertise the site. Jesus, you're as bad as Trump!!
I am not a minority, but I volunteered. They canceled my appointment because they hadn't gotten the drugs in yet from the manufacturer. So that's surely not helping, either. But yeah, uphill climb getting minorities in, given our history with them in medical research.
