“There's a huge rush into ESG investing and responsible investments and consumers and governments and investors are asking companies to be much more responsible when it comes to their sustainability and disclose a lot more than that, Kawamori, who serves as the company’s CEO, says.

Kawamori, who was born to a Japanese father and a German mother, moved to the U.S. at the age of 13, after living in Germany for the past 11 years . Eventually, they came up with the idea for Persefoni and created the product between February and the end of July.
