Lyft, Uber Granted Stay on California Order to Reclassify Drivers

A California appeals court granted an emergency stay to Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. Thursday, pausing a ruling that required the ride-hailing companies to reclassify their drivers as employees by Friday.

The reprieve means both companies can continue operating in the state while their appeal is considered. Both companies had said they would be forced to suspend operations in California if a stay wasn’t granted.

'Driving uber for cash' is illegal and dangerous for passengers but do go on and share this random person who just happens to know verbatim every single uber talking point to come out of dkhos mouth. Coincidence I'm sure, nothing to do with uber advertising, right? right?

When an appeals court in a liberal state grants a stay, that means the state probably over stepped.
