Yelena Grelet’s insightful interview with Jamaican hairstylist Jawara Waucope was also an inspiring one. As a Black girl who’s struggled to accept her kinky hair, it was amazing to see how the hairstylist could transform all hair textures into astounding sculptures, and naturally encourage others to embrace their hair. Despite having already accomplished many notable achievements, Wauchope’s work doesn’t end there.
Talia Beale, our gorgeous friend on the BA Fashion Communication and Promotion course created a beautiful graphic in the shape of a sunflower which features 17 creatives of colour. She travelled around the streets of London to photograph them outside their homes to promote each of their talents.
