President of the Victorian Farmers Federation David Jochinke says farmers need to have free movement through the SA and Victorian border in order to keep the industry running properly. South Australia has refused to lift its borders as of midnight on Thursday making it more difficult for Victorians on the SA border to cross interstate.
“For us it’s all about making sure that we can get that free movement of workforce through these borders,” Mr Jochinke told Sky News host Peter Gleeson. “Agriculture is an essential … a critical service. “When we see these restrictions it does place a stress, it does place a strain through that whole system. “This is something we look at not in isolation … we look at it as a whole nation view of how can we service the nation.
