The Victorian COVID Advisory Group was quietly established last month, reflecting a willingness by government to consult more widely on how to reboot the state’s stalled economy. | EXCLUSIVE by Chip Le Grand

The state government is being advised by a select group of business leaders about where it can ease COVID-19 restrictions on industry without risking workplace outbreaks, as it appears many of Melbourne’s stage four restrictions are likely to stay to the end of the month.

Networker: Businessman Paul Little, pictured with Deputy Premier James Merlino and Meagan Merlino, is chairing a new group advising the Andrews government on its COVID response.A leaked draft of the road map out of stage four suggests retail and industry will be constrained for many weeks to come, putting further strain on the relationship between the government and business groups frustrated by its cautious approach.

Doherty Institute director Sharon Lewin is advising the Victorian government through the newly formed VCAG.The group includes construction magnate Michael Argyrou, Coles general manager Tony O’Toole, GMHBA chairman Jim Walsh, logistics and transport executive Mark Kellett, and Sharon Lewin, the director of the Doherty Institute and an expert on infectious diseases.

Dan only has an Arts degree, does he have the capacity to understand business and cost benefit analysis and long term overall societal wellbeing? He and his missionary doctor just don't won't too many 90 year olds dying from Covid. That's vainglory and political.

Hang on, hang on. Surely not including the little bald fella on the right? He was at the helm of ESSENDON FC throughout their whole debacle! Fair dinkum. Yet another Andrews’ scandal to be thrown upon the mountain of scandals.

Labor’s only strategy is to use Leftist state governments to destroy national economy to get Shorten into the Lodge . . . Dems in US doing the same to remove Trump

What a waste of taxpayers money.........obviously easing restrictions on borders is the answer.

Here we go again more liberal affiliated media bias BULLSHIT. springst

Lets hope Andrews listens as he does not listen to small business nor does the federal labour Government. We need help as we are acing a slow death if the economy does not open.

Open up all VIC businesses! The recovery rate from Covid19 is 99.5%. The people who have died WITH Covid19 not OF it are mainly 85 or 90 and sadly were going to die of the next thing they caught anyway.

Interesting that the Premier only listens to a handful of 'trusted advisors and public health officials' but doesn't want to consult with broad range of stakeholders. Stakeholder engagement is key to many Vic govt projects but not important here COVID19Vic springst Melbchief

A number of which are too entitled & privileged & know very little about what the common woman & man, sole operator or small business owner needs. What a joke.
