LONDON - Northern Ireland minister Brandon Lewis said on Tuesday that proposed legislation for Britain’s internal market, which newspaper reports say would undermine the Brexit divorce deal, would break international law “in a limited way”.
Asked if anything in the proposed legislation did or potentially did breach international legal obligations or arrangements, Lewis said: “Yes, this does break international law in a very specific and limited way. “We are taking the powers to disapply the EU law concept of direct effect required by article 4 in a certain, very tightly defined circumstance.”
Why the fuss? Domestically, this govt repeatedly demonstrates that its one rule for them, another for the rest of us. They’re just applying this approach internationally, illustrating what the world can expect from a free, sovereign UK under Boris Johnson.
People painted Theresa May as dangerous and inept for trying to steer the course. This government has already sunk the ship
Whyte people can break international law softly 🌸 but have the highest authority in condemning nations occupied by non whites ✨
Isn't breaking the law, even in a limited way, breaking the law?🤔
Bollocks. It's in black and white under 10 of the British government commitments on page 47. Now get lost. I'm sick of the left and remainers
🇬🇧 UK can’t be trusted, sad..
So this is the country that's been polluting the EU for 48 years, aye? And people wonder why the EU didn't try to keep 'em?
International law shminternational law
Spain could make a very limited invasion in Gibraltar. Such a tiny territory, hardly worth mentioning.

'It's OK to rob the bank as long as you do it 'in a limited way''
I'm going to the bank to break the law in a limited way.
