The Exchange has picked up worldwide rights to the upcoming feature documentary Welcome to Dale: The Elizabeth Carmichael Story, ahead of a 2021 debut.

Welcome to Dale: The Elizabeth Carmichael Story,The film from directors Nick Ryan and Pavel Barter portrays alleged con artist Elizabeth Carmichael, a trans woman who was born Jerry Dean Michael and developed a 1970s three-wheeled car, The Dale.

Carmichael claimed she was about to start manufacturing her efficient and cheap car amid the 1970s gas crisis. But as she secured investors, Carmichael also created a web of mystery as journalists, the Big Three automakers and the FBI started investigating.film is now in post-production in Ireland and to be shopped for pre-sales by The Exchange at the Toronto Film Festival's virtual market now underway.
