Oracle's winning bid is just part of the company's inner workings closely related with the White House to win contracts worth billions of dollars.

President Donald Trump last month signed an executive order that insisted the Chinese app TikTok's American holdings be sold to an American company in September, or else he would ban the app in the United States. And as time ticked toward the deadline, Oracle apparently won the bid.

The TikTok logo is displayed outside a TikTok office on August 27, 2020 in Culver City, California. The Chinese-owned company is reportedly set to announce the sale of U.S. operations of its popular social media app in the coming weeks following threats of a shutdown by the Trump administration.

"We would have made significant changes to ensure the service met the highest standards for security, privacy, online safety, and combating disinformation," Microsoft stated.

I'm not so sure that government interference into TikTok is valid. There is no security breach to this application that's used by millions for small videos. But, shit happens.
