TRADITIONAL Chinese medicine practitioners and pharmacies in Malaysia are making the switch from medicines made from animal ingredients to plant-based remedies, industry players said, but there remains a small segment who continue to ply prohibited goods. Another concern is the sale of traditional medicines made from fake animal parts, now that the clampdown on endangered wildlife trade has made them more expensive.
