Energy company AGL was apparently on board to build a new gas station before ScottMorrisonMP issued his energy ultimatum, according to aclennell

Energy company AGL was apparently on board to build a new gas station before the prime minister issued his energy ultimatum, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. Scott Morrison said the government will build a gas power plant in the NSW Hunter Valley region if the private sector does not do it.

The prime minister said there needs to be 1,000 megawatts of new dispatchable capacity by 2023-24, which coincides with the closure of the Liddell power plant. AGL are now odds on to build this gas plant and it can never be proved whether or not they would have built it without the PM's threat,” Mr Clennell said.
