MADRID/LONDON - Spain’s MasMovil and its new private equity owners said they had not been in contact with Vodafone after a newspaper reported the London-based company had started talks about buying the mobile operator.
El Economista, citing sources with knowledge of the situation, said on Friday that Vodafone had started talks with the three buyout funds that recently took over MasMovil. A spokeswoman, speaking on behalf of the private equity companies, also said there had been “no conversations whatsoever” with Vodafone.Vodafone declined to comment.
