Urban residents were searching for vacation rentals in neighboring towns and cities, so they didn’t have to fly. People wanted to book entire homes, meaning Airbnb could gain from travelers shunning hotels and their shared spaces.
Has a long time Airbnb host, I’ve certainly noticed the cut back on expenses. You can’t get any help with anything at all these days. They used to be so responsive.
They were able to act quickly and without question made decisions that benefited all stakeholders.
Although I'm not a fan of Airbnb to use aabd it's affects on rental markets and hosts neighbours, I have to say, this was a great response to their market and employees. Well done.

Still waiting on $1,900 when I cancelled for the covid risk in Texas. I had a doctors note. I asked for a partial refund and the host and Airbnb and AirbnbHelp said no. I lost all family vacation money. They are the only company making us fight for a refund.

Their IPO will be interesting. Not sure investors believe the outlook....allwell and good to tighten the belt but they carry alot of debt and the world seems chaotic

And, they refused to allow anyone to cancel once borders were closed. I booked a trip to Mx for this December a year ago, before the pandemic. With no vaccine in sight, and safety of air travel still uncertain, Airbnb still refuses to give me a refund for the upcoming trip/Beware
