He runs the A’s front office and holds a minority stake in the team. He could soon have a financial interest in the Red Sox, part of the sports empire overseen by John Henry, the billionaire owner who has spent nearly two decades courting him
Beane has long been open about his desire to try his hand at soccer so this comes as little surprise. Baseball becoming a (mostly) solved sport. It'll be interesting to see Beane disrupt not just a Premier League team but one with a huge following like Liverpool FC.
