Federal Government MPs cleared of wrongdoing and misusing public funds

The Department of Finance has cleared Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar and former minister Kevin Andrews of misusing Commonwealth funds.The Department of Finance cleared both MPs in two separate investigationsThe Victorian federal MPs asked for an investigationto try and recruit Liberal party members.

It was alleged it was done while they were working in Mr Andrews' office and while it was not alleged that Mr Sukkar was actively involved in the branch stacking, the reports alleged he benefited from it.

The government authority that cleared these guys of any wrongdoing is part of the C’wealth Dept of Finance and has no true independence. What is needed is a C’wealth ICAC. While there is a perception of wrongdoing, the matter will not be addressed and will remain an issue.
