Southwark Council leader Kieron Williams is doing the same, stating that the Government 'failed, so we are stepping up'. The London council will reallocate funds to pay for free meals over half term. Responding to Rashford's tweet, Labour Leader Kier Starmer said:"If the Government won’t do the right thing, the great people of this country will.
Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, was recently awarded an MBE after his successful campaign for free school meal vouchers over the summer holidays.
