After a year that saw the industry decimated, our tourist industry is hoping for a recovery in 2021

It's no secret to anyone that Ireland's tourist industry has been decimated by the coronavirus pandemic.

International travel has been all but wiped out in recent months – a revenue stream that Irish customers couldn't match even when the economy opened up over the summer.EU 'traffic light' system crucial, says Tourism Ireland If we do get a vaccine in 2021, the safe resumption of some overseas travel could offer a lifeline to Ireland's starving tourism industry.

But Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warned today that there's still a “substantial risk associated with international travel”.
