Elon Musk is open to talking about merging Tesla with another car company. These are the 4 most likely candidates.

Toyota, Volkswagen, and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance were the world's three largest automakers, but the first two would likely scoff at the idea of becoming a division of Tesla, Brauer said. Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi have struggled financially in recent years, so the alliance's challenges, as well as its early investments in EVs, might make a merger with Tesla attractive, Brauer said.

Electric cars are great if you live in the city. What about the “fly over states”? We live in Sugar Land, Tx. Our kids live 3 hrs away, Dallas, San Antonio, etc. Until batteries have longer charge time, can’t work for us.
