The China trade dispute has spread to Australia's lamb industry, impacting two Victorian meatworks.

The China trade dispute has spread to Australia's lamb industry, impacting two Victorian meatworks. In July, China used COVID-19 outbreaks at two major lamb processing facilities in Melbourne as justification to stop accepting meat from those plants.

Despite no cases of COVID-19 being linked to those facilities for months, Beijing is still refusing to accept exports from those facilities. Agriculture Minister David Littleproud released a recent statement noting: "We continue to raise the recommencement of exports from those facilities with China through our agriculture counsellors and DFAT officials in Beijing".
