Stay-at-home stocks outpacing a back-to-work portfolio on Wednesday

Exchange-traded funds with exposure to consumer stay-at-home stocks jumped while"re-opening" themed ETFs underperformed Wednesday, as concern over the spreading virus appeared to outweigh vaccine optimism. The Amplify Online Retail ETF IBUY, +2.00% surged 1.

9%, the ProShares Online Retail ETF ONLN, +1.46% was up 1.6%, and the ProShares Long Online/Short Stores ETF gained 1.1%. Meanwhile, U.S. Global Jets ETF JETS, +0.04% was down 0.4% and the ETFMG Travel Tech ETF AWAY, +0.07% was down 0.3%. The broader stock market SPX, -0.18% was about halfway between those two extremes, down 0.2%.
