One $748 billion proposal includes money for small business loans, jobless benefits, vaccine distribution and more. The other package will include $160 billion for state and local aid, such as liability protections for businesses and other entities.

The other: A package that includes $160 billion for state and local aid that includes liability protections for businesses and other entities -- the two biggest sticking points. It's uncertain how many senators and House members from the group will sign onto the second proposal, but the expectation is the first proposal will have wide support.Six senators were holding calls Sunday afternoon to try to reach an accord on the issue after struggling for weeks.

Earlier Sunday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who said he spent the weekend in talks with House and Senate members on a relief package, signaled he'd be willing to accept a deal that doesn't include the state and local aid that Democrats have been pushing for in order"to get the essential done."" and I spent a lot of time on the phone together.

Didn’t McConnell say that funds for states would be in the next bill when the first stimulus bill was being negotiated? How can Dems work for the good of the country when one man lies over and over again?

If they would just give everyone with an income of less $50,000 a check for $20,000 and $10,000 for each child the economy would get a terrific jump start. Everyone could afford their home, apartment, food, health/home insurance, car payments, home repairs, new clothes, new shoes

That's right - SQUEEEEEEEZZZZEEEE us until we break. They really don't want to know what's on the other side of that levee.

Nancy Pelosi should be deported for her conduct in this matter.

But no stimulus check , i did get a check from the state for $13.50 grr, i said to my husand , what she we do with it? Sign it over to landlord Buy food Christmas present for my kids And told him since we are married i get off! $6.50 a piece.

A shame Republicans don’t feel Americans are worthy of the $3 Trillion dollar package or the $1.5 trillion dollar package the Democrats wanted. Remember his name Mitch McConnell.

Why is the money not available to to do what needs to be done? What's all the back and forth about, what are they doing with the money that they have to be haggling about the needs of the masses, if they can't do the job, get rid of them, the whole lot of them, c'mon people!

Loans?

👏🏻Stop. 👏🏻Sending. 👏🏻Money. To. 👏🏻Businesses. &👏🏻Send. 👏🏻Money. 👏🏻Directly. 👏🏻To. 👏🏻American. 👏🏻Citizens. 👏🏻Instead.👏🏻 Businesses abuse the money. A CA business spent all of his PPP money on Trump billboards. A FL biz owner bought a Lamborghini. The people need money.

Dems better act fast!!! They are responsible for thousands of deaths daily!!!

The state and local funds will be used to bail out a miserable state like IL from its pension disaster. You fellow 'blue states' should take issue with this too, as it damages the case of your legit needs. You're not all in it together....just sayin.

Sigh

Let’s stop behaving like this is Monopoly money, OPEN the economy, stop oppressing people

They are so far out of touch , that I don't know why they even bother.

I am open to the rich paying high taxes to provide a responsible Covid 19 relief package for working Americans and Small businesses

In case anyone wants to know which asshole added that liability bull crap.. but I’m sure we can also guess who without even looking

where are the $1200 checks?
