Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte warned owners of public transport companies registered in the city that their business permits will be revoked should they be caught violating government-issued health protocols amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Belmonte issued the warning as she issued Executive Order No. 45 mandating the observance of minimum health protocols in public transport vehicles such as buses, jeepneys, tricycle, and taxis, among others, during the pandemic.

“It is necessary to reaffirm and reinforce compliance with these minimum health protocols on public transportation, considering the increasing volume of passengers as the economy reopens,” the mayor said in a statement Sunday .
