If Health Canada approves the change, Canada could get about 6.7 million vials rather than eight million.
Late Tuesday, Martin Bégin, a spokesperson for Health Canada, confirmed the regulator has received Pfizer’s request. He was unable to provide a timeline for a decision. The low dead space syringes are a “niche” item, said Troy Kirkpatrick, a spokesperson for BD, the medical technology company supplying the United States with syringes. BD is selling syringes to Canada, but not low dead space ones. The federal government was unable to tell The Globe which company supplies those.
Pfizer is now pushing the problem elsewhere, as there is a shortage of syringes. They'll claim we received the vial's so it's no longer their problem pfizer is failing Canada!!!!

kuku27 This has been normal practice for over half century to have large vials of Penicillin, Dicrystacin, Streptomycin, Procaine, many more injectable drugs, what is wrong with vaccines, which are consumed within few minutes of opening

We would need special syringes which we don’t have in great quantities and are in demand all over the world. Pfizer has already screwed us over with the delivery delays. No way should Health Canada be charitable and agree to this.
