Here's how much CVS and Walgreens stand to profit as the federal government opens up access to COVID-19 shots at retail pharmacies

against COVID-19, and they could rake in hefty profits along the way.

Those shipments are on top of the shots being sent to states, which allocate doses according to their distribution plans. They estimated that nearly 350 million shots will be administered to US adults outside of nursing homes in the coming months and expect 50% of those shots will take place at retail pharmacies.
