Wut

And if a straight man went into a bakery owned by a gay couple and asked them to make a cake saying support straight marriage, what would have happened if they had refused? I suspect the man would have been accused of homophobia. What about heterophobia? Equality? One way street.

All this and no one gives a shit about Bert and Ernie

If that’s their genuine belief I believe they should have the right to say no. It’s a system that would work for many different types of people/couple/religions.

What a load of bollocks!! Why do they think they have a God-given right to do whatever they want? Great decision today!!! 👍👍👍

How much money has been wasted on this. It’s just a cake 🍰 go to another shop grow up

Making a meal out of this, should be asking why most food served in Britains supermarkets & fast food chains is halal. What if someone walked into McDonalds or a Chicken Shop & asked that the owner serve them a non halal beef or chicken burger, or they'll take them to court...

Did they refuse or did it go more like, “sorry we can’t make all the colours of the rainbow, we don’t have the right food colouring”

At least they said no, they could of taken the money and pee'd in the cake mix like other bakers.

I would think freedom of contract would mean they can refuse work from anyone. I don't think it's a good thing to have refused in this day an age - we should be past this by now. That said plenty of other bakers out there to do business with.

I thought gays are supposed to be artistic? Order the cake, then write your own shit on it.

Good

They didn’t refuse to supply the cake they refused to apply the sentiment on the decoration for the cake, which is their right according to the law of the land.

I often wonder what the world would be like without religion. It appears to upset so many people and despite it supposing to teach love and tolerance,it appears to create hate and intolerance. We all need a bit of tolerance and understand we can't always agree with others views.

🐂💩

This has been blown out of all proportion. If 'Ashers' had refused to bake the cake because the customer was gay, then yes it is a big problem! From what I understand though they were happy to bake the cake, just not apply a message they disagreed with on it.

The correct decision. And soon there will be no running to European Courts for a second opinion 👍Btw did the cake have a soggy bottom?

Decision is spot on. If we are going to respect the views of other faiths then the Christian faith should also be respected. Would this same couple have complained if a butcher had refused to sell them pork due to being Muslim? Their loss for not getting your money.

Activist. JogOn

Yes they did, he was not asking for an endorsement of gay marriage merely a cake with a perfectly legal message. Would the bakers be allowed to advertise their views against gay marriage and for it not to be discrimination? Of course not. Britanniawaivestherules

I’m shocked that your Supreme Court actually applied logic.

Perfectly right
