Cicconi also encouraged employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19, though Google is not requiring employees to get vaccinated before returning to the office. Googlers with personal circumstances that require them to work remotely beyond September are allowed to apply for an extension to remain remote, so long as they meet certain criteria.
