"Offices will begin to open in a limited capacity based on specific criteria that include increases in vaccine availability and downward trends in COVID-19 cases," she added. Cicconi also encouraged employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19, though Google is not requiring employees to get vaccinated before returning to the office. Googlers with personal circumstances that require them to work remotely beyond September are allowed to apply for an extension to remain remote, so long as they meet certain criteria.
