Almost half said they’ve had an alcoholic drink An overwhelming 77% say that they shop online, while on the clock at least once a week.
Two in five have been reprimanded at least once for getting off-task, and 39% of people have been let go from their jobs for doing non-work-related activities. Of course, this survey isn’t all inclusive and doesn’t take into consideration the array of challenges confronted by people. For many, it was a daily struggle to get by. Roughly 80 million people in the U.S. filed for unemployment benefits.
and the “Spanish Flu” epidemic in about 1919, a new era of optimism was ushered in. Everything seemed possible. There were new technological innovations, the Jazz Age and Harlem Renaissance started, arts and culture flourished, people were dancing and enjoying life to the fullest.
The very definition of work life balance
I do all these at the office wtf.
Based
😳
Good
So you agree 8 hours is an unnecessarily long work day
Literally don't care. Stay home I'm tired of cleaning y'all messy cubicles anyway
'My employees that I severely underpay are getting their work done AND having a healthy social life while doing it :('
Ok. Now publish an article about how much personal time companies have stolen from workers during the past 49 non- pandemic years. Making ppl travel on Sundays for business trips? Last minute assignments that require 12+ hour days to complete? Company events after hours?🤯
So what’s the problem lol
How was the study conducted? I can’t believe Forbes to this extent.
Are employers paying for work, or to control human beings and their bodies? Rich, overpaid CEO control freaks telling employees what to do with their bodies is fascist, masochistic, invasive, and really, really creepy. It is very much a time for the 99% protests and unions again
DELETE THIS
So what? As long the Job is done, the results are good, who cares what ppl are doing in their homes?
Good on em
Chân thật hiểu chuyện và tình nghĩa
But are we sure these people weren’t doing the same things before?
Omg 😆😆😃 it was shocking
In spite of all this busybody reportage or tales by moonlight, are the people working from home delivering on their tasks and targets?
Oh, you mean they are LIVING?
We were told we could leave at 2 pm today. But I had hearings and clients and nope. Never happens. But it’s okay, I love the work.
So what
Wow it’s almost like these people aren’t in their own homes in the middle of a pandemic :o
Maybe this is why studies show people working remotely are more productive.
Can someone send me the companies i love these perks
As long as the companies work is being done and satisfactory there should be no problem
if they're doing the job why tf does it matter
Bruh! 🤣
Damn Forbes! Tell them how I do laundry, keep my work caught up, and make sure the kids are at school on time on company's time too. Focused on the wrong thing.😒
I’ve been taking naps and working on my Etsy on company time since this pandemic started. And my performance IMPROVED! I got an exceptional performance review compared to the 2019 one where i was barely meeting company standards. Leave me alone and let me keep napping.
So funny 🤣🤣😂😂
Duh?
Hey Forbes !!!
They did more than that when they were supposed to be 'working' in the office! Ask the bosses!
sounds like y'all are jealous bc that happens at a regular office too lol
Productivity does not mean sitting at your desk and staring at your inbox, it means how much work you get done in a day. So what if you are productive enough to do other stuff in between. WFH has opened our eyes to just how much office jobs resemble slavery.
What an entirely useless article discussing all the wrong points. Surely productivity is the key aspect here? WFH has been a blessing to employers since employees can now answer that email at 4am (yes, I've done it) or properly consider a proposal and only act on it at 9pm.
Good.
*raises eyebrow* define company time? My contract specifies a certain number of hours but I work nearly double. I am not unique - this article starts from a false position that nirnal working life fits into a 9-5, office environment.
Ur talking like employees don't do that at ur company, Forbes. lmao
And what about it
Is the work being done tho? Thts the survey we are interested in not this nonsenseness.
I think you missed a word (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ less
If toilet cubicles could speak in offices
Jokes on you, I did all this at the office too, Nerd
and yall make it sounds like people don’t take unproductive meetings, have long lunch break, smoke break, bathroom break, browse social media ON COMPANY TIME? WFH is a valid alternative, stop trying to make it sounds like a bad thing by saying shit like this.
Hope people are doing ok
Good
Do they achieve targets? Are they productive? I guess so.
And what’s wrong with that. Let people enjoy their pleasure even with company time as long as they are productive
delete this shit
good
1. Companies couldn't stop many activities while they were working at office. 2. Most wfh employees are giving not less than their normal. 3. Wfh employees are normally giving their travel time and even working late night to meet the deadlines/targets. 4. Companies are intruding.
Studies in Sweden showed increased productivity and reduced costs for companies
No one reads Forbes, so they write and link and inflammatory article which will garner massive engagement from people hate reading/commenting.
I don't see the company paying for my monthly rent so as long as shit gets done, they best be minding their own business.
Why do we continue to long for the days when the money you made at the coal mine would be spent at the company store
Oh no people are enjoying their one life before they die :(
Funny, I've got client PMs messaging me at all times of day, night & weekend, ever since they've been working from home.
GOOD. FOR. THEM.
If that boosts productivity then it’s a good thing. Much better than time wasted on fighting the traffic, sitting at your desk browsing the web, or socializing with coworkers you don’t like.
Goals
If the work gets done then who cares. I think it is amazing people have been able to maintain social lives during this bullshit. I hope people are realizing that work should not be life. Happiness and enjoyment comes before work.
Can Forbes cut the shit with all this paid media corporate bullshit?
Not a study really. It's a Nielsen Corporation survey. truthiness
Companies have always demanded employees work on their personal time so who cares if employees are taking time during the day (amidst a global fucking pandemic) to recharge.
Time doesn't belong to anyone.
if a company operates completely fine with employees working remote, then leave them remote. imagine how much money is being saved without the need to travel to and from buildings on top of the amount of gas reduction due to lack of travel. it's a great thing.
Damn you capitalist! Company using my electricity and broadband internet on my personal bill.
They were doing it before, they just had to be sneakier around the office with it
It’s called multitasking
THIS JUST IN: Study also showed Employee Moral Waaaaay Up 📈
Fuck company time tbh
It's almost like they're paying for the work to get done, not to have a warm body there for 8 hours for show.
Studies also show workers are more productive at home vs office so there is that.
Good
That’s really not any of their business
And yet productivity has only increased, this just shows that the typical 9-5 model is outdated
What if I told you I did all that at the office too?
bosses miss lording over minions.
Good.
Felizmente, vagabunda
And still production hasn’t gone down! WORK/LIFE Balance!
Studies have shown that if the work is still getting done then y’all should just mind your damn business.
Awesome.
Which companies? Are they hiring?
Can we stop these anti work from home headlines & articles that are clearly a push from CEOs/micromanagers who just want everyone back in the office for no other reason besides well, micromanaging? We know that most office work can be done at home. It’s over. Let people wfh damn.
'company time', that tell you a lot about capitalism.
Good.
People are having sex?
People are also working a lot longer at home than did before. It’s common to see people logged in at 9-10pm to clear emails and work on the weekends. We are just replacing the getting ready/commute time into work time. Also, STFU “Snitches get stitches”
Let's no act like the boardmembers and heads if these companies haven't used company money for their personal pleasure. I think that would be a more important 'study'.
Which goes to show how well they manage their time. They don't need some overpaid babysitter with a glorified title watching over their shoulder.
Too many cookies consents... f off!
So?
Well, Forbes, honestly your inferences are hilarious. In reality, people are working more in wfh than they did in office. The boundary between personal and office work is reducing.People are more stressed. Hence the alcohol, drug use, unhealthy food intake has increased.
cywoski interesting article
And those companies are still making record profits.
You guys are having sex? 😔
True but productivity is multiplied for the company in return.
Cry me a fucking river you greedy pricks
Sounds like most Mps Why should mps be the only ones to get away with it
So who wasted their money on this study?
It shows the majority of the managerial class is completely worthless and a burden on everyone and the company.
Been working from home for years and aside from checking Twitter sometimes, it's pretty much wall to wall work. I even make my lunch and eat at my desk. Not to mention getting emails and Slacks after hours when I'm making dinner.
Wait'll you hear what they were doing at the office.
This isn’t surprising at all
Forbes (and 'companies') should start valuing effort and results over 'company time'. As long as targets are achieved, who cares what else workers are also doing simultaneously.
But are they getting the job done?
Awesome!
Good
Paid ad for the GOP and the billionaire CEOs
GOOD. About time we're getting some benefits.
Who gives a fuck if they still get the job done?
Good
If they’re doing their work, mind your fvcking business.
All those CEOs must be fuming on the back nine today while earning a bajillion dollars an hour.
What time of the night was this article written? Is everyone punching a 9-5 timeclock now?
Extremely tone deaf article. Hope your bosses still like you.
Yeah, pretty much what they do in the office too.
They should study what happens AT the office if they want to hear about shocking behavior!
Don't bother reading this. The headline has almost nothing to do with the article. It's just another editor being told that clicks will keep his job, and perhaps reluctantly acceding to the notion that hate-clicks are the most reliable clicks.
So, like CEOs?
god forbid employees have fulfilling lives
So...enjoying the one life they have been given?
Did that really need a study?
Just get your work done, simple as that. I don't care what extracuriculars anyone I manage is doing as long as the work gets done.
So acting like politicians? Cool.
'Company time'
This whole quarantine phenomenon is new for everyone and people are learning how to adjust in this lifestyle without getting depressed.
WILL NO ONE THINK OF THE BUSINESS OWNERS AND SHAREHOLDERS?!?...
Stfu
But productivity numbers are up...
elderFLAWLESS sir please come and see something 😁😁
Don't you wag your fucking finger at me. I'll break it off.
They should be browsing twitter while pretending to work in an office instead.
FUCK YEAH
You forgot that we are also boozing
Well F... companies that's it
People are living life? How dare
Mind your damn business
Good for them!!
I knew it! (all my staff work from home).
Surprise the work is still done. So shut up
Doesn't sound like a bad thing
It's called living bitch
I'm wondering who paid for that crap article.
Same stuff that happens at offices
'How people dare live their lifes during the moment I pay to have full control over their minds ans bodies'
But what did you expect? Lol
That's baloney.
Are employees on nanny cam now are are y'all deploying narc drones
Babe, people were doing this on company time long before WFH. And good on them.
yes and thats a good thing
If I was stuck at home with my wife because of some stupid virus, I’d be porking her on company time too.
Oh no how dare they...not have a miserable experience
Did anyone expect anything other than this?😂
Damn sounds awesome. People should do all that stuff way more often.
It isn't company time. They don't own me.
Turns out work doesn't always take 8 hours a day 5 days a week, most office workers only work 3 hours a day
If. I'm. Getting. My. Job. Done. Then. Shut. The. Fuck. Up. This nanny-state 'on company time' ethos is absolute horseshit, and it needs to be one of the Covid Fatalities, for sure.
Did they check how often people have to stau late, have meetings early mornings (why not, right? nobody needs to drive or take shower before)? Even taking a vacation day is not easy - because - like where you gonna go anyway? And if staying at home, they expect you read the email
Good. Sounds like people are finding ways to make use of the empty space in between things that need doing. They're being paid to do these things within a set timeframe, as long as those things are accomplished and done well, then who cares what they do in between?
Massive dub
What’s wrong with that, if they’re getting their work done properly-oh well.
Is this a study by a company that rents out office space?
Good.
Are they wanking on camera during zoom meetings with their colleagues? No? Then don't worry about it.
But the productivity is.. Fine? Even up in many places? Huh, maybe letting people live like living beings while they work is actually good for them and their work! How will we break it to the office tyrants who think people must become robots for 9 hours a day in a box?
Good for them
Wait till y’all find out what people do in the office on company time.
And?
It’s almost like they think are CEO’S now 🤔
Being if you're worried about this it just showcases the lack of people management skills you have. If you competently engaged and enabled your team, with regular touch points, your team's productivity would be so great you'd want them to spend some time for them.
Ironically, one of the things I've been soured on with the 'work from home during pandemic' is the sheer lack of sex during work hours. All these video sites have it totally wrong, I never find my wife's head stuck under a bed or in a washing machine, it's so depressing.
damn, y'all just love the taste of booth leather, huh
Are they getting their jobs done? If the answer is yes
Are they getting their work done?
Forbes, this is not the 'gotcha' headline you think it is
this is a super sick burn forbes dot cn but if the study didn't take into consideration the amount of time required to contribute to office culture i'm not so sure it's proving your point
Sounds great
Y’all think we..uh, people, weren’t doing this BEFORE?!
What does 'company time' even mean? If the company expects me to answer emails at 10:00 at night, I can damn well be having sex at 10:00 in the morning.
Your point?
Quislings.
stop snitching assholes
as they should
Sounds like work is being done AND people get to have lives?!! The depravity.
Results. Only. Work. Environment.
Ok and? If the volume of work is being completed so fucking what?
... and the work is STILL getting done. sounds like they need to mind their own fucking business and let their employees live. As long as their work is getting done. who the fuck cares
Call your local CEO, they may be crying 😞
Oh no....the horror
Cool
How much work was done on “personal time” pre Covid?
Good
pog
'company time' is when I'm working for the company so by definition...
Are they performing ie making good on their business commitments, delivering quality work on time etc? If so then what you care.
