PETALING JAYA: Budget and business hotel operators are seeking help from the government and private sector in order to survive the current MCO 3.0, says Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MyBHA) national deputy president Sri Ganesh Michiel.

PETALING JAYA: Budget and business hotel operators are seeking help from the government and private sector in order to survive the current MCO 3.0, says Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association national deputy president Sri Ganesh Michiel"It will, to some extent, give a more effective impact towards efforts to ensure the hotel and tourism industry survives without any employment layoffs or business closures," he said in a statement on Thursday .

He added the current MCO travel restrictions has caused a drastic drop in customers resulting in some members to close shop and lay off workers. MyBHA listed a slew of demands, which among others, included a review of the Wage Subsidy Programme to help those in the industry.The association also wants special tax incentives and an increase in Sales and Service Tax threshold to RM1.5mil.Implementation of tighter SOP under MCO 3.0 began on Tuesday and will last till June 7.
