Victoria small businesses are continuing to struggle under the weight of another lockdown, with owners taking to the streets of Melbourne’s CBD on Saturday.

Melbourne’s small business owners say they’re being destroyed by the current coronavirus lockdown in the city, losing thousands of dollars of revenue.

After purchasing a new venue in March 2020 just before the pandemic hit, he has since accrued more than $120,000 in interest from his frozen loans. “There’s no one out there giving us a voice right now, so it was a spur of the moment idea to get out and try to share my story,” he said. “I’ve got no faith in the state or federal governments, they’re just hopeless and the only people that suffer is not them, it’s us.”Regional Victorian photographer Carly Soderstrom said she had to turn down a $7000 opportunity at Australian Fashion Week because of the latest lockdown. She’s now got just $400 in her bank account.“Lockdown didn’t just meant lost income, I lost the opportunity to have my work seen by people who might hire me, you just lose momentum,” Ms Soderstrom said on Saturday.

To all the fear mongering sycophants comparing another lockdown with the risks in India & other countries, no doubt it must be a slow day working for VictorianLabor

The decline in daily cases has nothing to do with lockdown. 300+ exposure sites, 1million+(?) tests of most probable infected for 36 active cases, 2 hospitalised, 0 deaths. Vic needs to trust its improved tracing. We are needlessly in lockdown & lied to about how contagious it is

And the Age now come out in support of people catching Covid. The long term affects, the death. How a once mighty newspaper has fallen. Such a shame.

So a 'regional' photographer and a cafe owner from Scoresby (40km from Flinders St Station) both interviewed 'under the clocks'. Would anyone care to investigate if the 10km lockdown rule had been broken for this media stunt? VictoriaPolice COVID19Vic auspol

What about us, whose jobs lost due to outsourcing/insourcing/work&business visa/skilled visa/state sponsored visa/immigration/talent & GTI visa etc..all jobs moved to India/Singapore/Asia. Companies has so many options..literally no Technical jobs here

Lock down protests are also happening all around the world, people have had enough, why don't you report on those🖕

Cricketers allowed overseas to work. Allowed overseas for your cousins wedding. Ended up costing peoples livelihoods. End hotel quarantine now

If only the vaccine rollout wasn't in a shambles our lives would be getting back to normal just like the USA! Thanks Scott Morrison!!!!!! No rush hey.........

Did they complain to Morrison? Perhaps asking why he’s had almost 18 months to act & has done fuck all about quarantine or the vaccine rollout failure. Steno at Costello’s TheAge, Ash_McMillan, using people to pursue Costello’s pro LNP agenda. MorrisonLockdown DumpTheAge

Are they all familiar with the rest of the planet? Or does the planet revolve around them, and only them?

Very sad economically for some businesses but necessary for public health. No use having a business if you are dead. For goodness sake look what’s happening overseas. Be grateful!!

Yep pandemics suck

When will the Morrison Government chip in some Taxpayers money to help small businesses

So 3 people having a sook under the clocks is worthy of an article? Hmmm....

talk to morrison its because of him you're being ruined
