Cox Enterprises is a global communications and automotive company with $20B in annual revenue and 50,000 employees. Here, their vice president of inclusion and diversity, Tiffanie McDonald, shares her strategies for authentically improving ID&E at your company.

Genuinely listen and stay open to new ideas and ways of doing things that may be different than the status quo or the way you’ve always done it. Being open-minded exposes individuals to new perspectives and more innovative solutions. Ensure you continuously pulse employees to understand their sentiment and be willing to adjust strategies where needed.This is an ongoing journey, not a destination. Take an agile approach to ID&E; iterate and improve over time.

After attending college and then law school on a full scholarship, McDonald didn’t want a job at a traditional law firm. Instead, she sought out district attorney jobs in small to mid-size offices that allowed her to handle different types of cases and be in the courtroom. She went into prosecution because she wanted to help make sure justice was served from the inside.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and then in the midst of that the social justice and equity movement exploded, McDonald knew that Black and brown communities were especially impacted. She made sure Cox offered employees free online counseling, access to apps like Headspace and Openfit to help with meditation and self-care, and subsidized child care from Care.com. The company also invited infectious disease expert Dr.

Tech loves hiring diversity..it helps them brag.. we have xx Nationalities working in our HQ. inclusion is a Myth. Whichever majority is running the department wins .. Example:- if a certain track or product has an American or Indian director the politics dictate 'inclusion '
