Travel is beginning to pick up again in the United States as more people are vaccinated against coronavirus but there have been some hiccups as Royal Caribbean cruises delayed a voyage after eight crew members tested positive to COVID-19.

Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley in a statement called the month-long departure delay “two steps forward and one step back”.

“While disappointing, this is the right decision for the health and wellbeing of our crew and guests,” the statement read. There are those who believe it is too soon for close contact activities including cruises, due to fears over the Delta variant spreading.
