With BuzzFeed going public, a digital media consolidation frenzy could be on the horizon.

At a press conference on Thursday, Peretti said Complex CEOwill become an adviser to BuzzFeed once the deal goes through. The acquisition is “a dream come true,” Peretti said, highlighting the “male and diverse audience” that Complex will bring to BuzzFeed, making it “a must buy for any marketer that is focused on the youth demographic.”

Touting BuzzFeed as “the future of media” for “digital entrepreneurs and operators to achieve their ambition,” Peretti said “there are more exciting companies out there that we want to pursue” and noted the company will “have opportunities to pursue more acquisitions” after today’s merger.
