Zach Hyman visited the Oilers on Wednesday. 👀

The meeting was first reported by TSN 1260's Jason Gregor and confirmed by Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.

Hyman is reportedly seeking a long-term contract with more than $6 million in annual salary, something the Maple Leafs would struggle to accommodate due to long-term commitments to John Tavares, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander. However, Johnston reports the Maple Leafs have indicated a sign-and-trade for Hyman -- which would allow the 29-year-old to sign an eight-year contract -- is on the table.

The Toronto native has been a part of the Maple Leafs core for the past five seasons, providing depth scoring and some sandpaper alongside the skilled talent at the top of the lineup. Last season he had 15 goals and 33 points in 43 games while spending time on both special teams.

Fine, go long term but absolutely no NMC FFS!

Oilers have $0.75 left in cap room. Right ... trade Mcdavid. Rebuild huh 🙄

Trade his rights straight up for Bear yes that is the ticket

Byeeeeee and the summer of Kenny continues? 🤣

Sounds like Lucic contract 2.0 7 year contract, has 2 good years than isn’t worth what he’s making. Us oilers fans then start hating on the player.. but it’s really the GM’s fault for signing him to such a ridiculous contract that we can’t trade, so we buy him out. Oilers
