If this is true, it's no doubt happening in many areas of the NHS with many other products. Salespeople with no conscience and procurement managers not paying attention

Who signed this off? I have procured with public money and because its so, I would never have paid such extortionate sums and always look for the best price.

The question is, why did they pay it?

Notice how it’s written by an NHS Consultant ... how much do they earn 😏

If the NHS refused to pay such sums who else would buy in such numbers. The price would come down.

Not the suppliers fault, it’s the buyers fault as they have paid it without question. Whoever paid it needs to lose their job.

This is why socialist run programs don't work.

The drug company is not the ripoff. That’s not how markets work. If some fool was willing to pay me £1000 for mouthwash, I’d sell it. The questions need to be directed at NHS procurement. Would anybody else behave this way with their own money?

When will these pharmaceutical companies be held to account. Disgraceful nhs

Drug companies are holding us to ransom. We need state-owned R&D to circumvent the bastards who want us to bankrupt ourselves for good health!!
